The EHESP has adopted a continuous quality improvement policy for all its activities to provide the best possible service to all its users.
The EHESP is seeking recognition for its many skills and functions – it is a Public Health School, an International School, an Engineering School, a Public Service School and a “grand établissement” (public research and higher education establishment) – and is committed to meeting the expectations of users in all these domains.

- Steering committee for continuous quality improvement
- QUAL: quality improvement support centre
A long-term development committee has been set up to support the objective of continuous improvement.
This quality commitment is based on the quality assurance expertise that the EHESP has acquired, in particular from its role in the accreditation of CAFDES centres (Health, welfare and care establishments). The results of the self evaluation (pdf, 718 kb) carried out in 2007, as part of the continuous improvement policy of public service schools initiated by the ENSP, now makes it possible to work towards the improvement of the overall functioning of the establishment.
General Policy on Continuous Quality Improvement EHESP
The quality policy (pdf, 109 kb) defined by the EHESP’s management board is based on proposals from the steering committee for continuous quality improvement and concerns the whole of the school’s activities.

The quality approach that has been developed is global and relies on the dynamism of all entities within the EHESP. Quality is the product of the combined action of all those involved. Measures to assure quality can be seen in the schools’ education, research and consultancy activities, in particular the Laboratoire d’Étude et de Recherche en Environnement et Santé (LÉRES – Laboratory for study and research into the environment and health), etc.
EHESP Quality Framework
The EHESP’s quality standards (pdf, 106 kb) are based on 26 documents incorporating the external requirements of the various networks in which the EHESP plays a role:
Agence d’évaluation de la recherche et de l’enseignement (AERES- Research and education evaluation agency)
Commission des titres d’ingénieur (CTI – Engineering evaluation and accreditation commission)
European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA)
Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER)
- Documents being drawn up
Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH)
- Accreditation criteria Schools of public health – pdf, 493 kb
- Accreditation criteria Public health programs – pdf, 468 kb
Conférence des grandes écoles (CGE – Conference of Engineering Schools)
- Internal regulations – pdf, 187 kb
Réseau des écoles de service public (RESP – Network of Public Service Schools)
- Quality manual 2006 – pdf, 177 kb
These documents have been condensed into a single manual by the steering committee for continuous quality improvement.
The quality manual is intended for use by all those within the EHESP. It forms the basis for deciding how to improve their practices and thus improve the quality of service provided to those who call on the EHESP’s facilities.
Steering committee for continuous quality improvement
The steering committee for continuous quality improvement represents all departments of the EHESP equitably. It draws up proposals for internal quality assurance, manages the implementation of improvement projects, evaluates them and reports to the management board on the progress of the measures.
QUAL: quality improvement support centre
QUAL is the support centre for internal and external quality assurance.
It monitors the implementation of the quality policy defined by the School management based on the work of the steering committee for continuous quality improvement.
It ensures that the EHESP’s quality commitments (quality standards – pdf, 116 kb) are put into practice and helps the establishment to prepare the various evaluations that contribute towards the recognition of its skills.
