“I am deeply excited to contribute to building a new school of public health in continental Europe. By creating the EHESP School of Public Health from the former National School of Public Health, which has trained French and foreign health professionnals for 45 years in Rennes, the parliament has expressed its wish to put France in a leading position among major nations in the field of public health, in the evaluation and promotion of its health and social model in the world. We will bring our insights and the fruits of our research in the debates concerning all citizens that affect health nowadays: those of the city of Rennes and the region of Brittany, those in our country and at a global level.
I will be committed to ensuring promotion of training and research for future health professionals, whose role is to contribute to equitable access to better health in a more liveable and sustainable environment. Within our campus and our regional offices, my priorities will be exemplarity and experimentation. It will be my responsibility, together with the whole management team, to be vigilant about diversity in our recruitment and in the respect for minorities.
Together, we will build at the EHESP a campus of the third millennium, a “zero carbon” campus opened to our local communities. We will follow and preserve all the values and spirit that presided over the public health law creating EHESP on 9 August 2004″.
