Following the 1st research seminar organised in November 2013 within the framework of the research programme Employment of people with disabilities in the public sector, a 2nd seminar took place on 18th and 19th September 2014 at the Maison des Sciences Sociales du Handicap (MSSH – House of Social Sciences and Disabilities).

The meeting gathered 21 participants from 12 European countries namely Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and United Kingdom.

The objectives of this two-day seminar were to look at the policies enforced by each country and to work on a comparative analysis. The working group chose 2 topics to work on in order to go further in their reflections:

  • The situation of the employment of persons with disabilities in the public sector of the European countries involved in the project;
  • How do we share concrete solutions and promote the exchange of best practices regarding this specific issue?

The next meeting will be held in 2015 to refine the issues raised.
