emploi des personnes handicapées, le rôle du secteur public en tant qu’employeur – Perspectives européennes

As part of the research programme “Employment of people with disabilities in the public sector“, a 3rd research seminar  was held at EHESP School of Public health, in Paris, on 24 and 25 September 2015, with 18 participants from 11 European countries (Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden and the United Kingdom).

Aim

During this 3rd edition, the participants of each country carried on the discussions on the employment of persons with disabilities in the public sector, started in 2013 and 2014, giving answers to “vignettes*”, with a comparative perspective:

  • By mapping, across European countries involved in the project, the situation of the employment of persons with disabilities in the public sector: looking at policies enforced and at statistical data;
  • By sharing concrete and innovative solutions as well as best practices on the employment of people with disabilities in the public sector.

* The vignettes’ system is based on 6 case studies of 6 persons with different disabilities employed in the public sector. The representatives of each European country were asked to answer 6 or 7 questions to describe how these persons would be helped into work and retain their job in their respective countries.

A final seminar will be held in 2016.
