Preparatory course timetable

Full-length courses: October to September.
Accelerated courses: January to mid-June.

The EHESP provides courses suitable for candidates with a wide variety of qualifications and experience. Each student has a tutor from the time he starts a course to monitor his progress. Courses are given by an educational team (pdf, 32 kb) comprised of in-house and external lecturers.

Full-length course students:

  • Introductory lessons
  • Basic principles
  • Specialisation: specific courses depending on the options selected
  • Mixed topic courses regardless of the option selected (general knowledge, languages, etc)

Accelerated course students:

Accelerated course students do not follow the courses on basic principles but receive tuition in the basics of the main specialisations.

Regular written and oral assessments are used to monitor the progress of students with respect to the learning objectives defined in the training reference (pdf, 26 kb).

The teaching programme (pdf, 20 kb) is based on experience acquired over the past number of years. It is updated by the programme manager according to the needs expressed by the teachers and students.

The syllabus (pdf, 20kb) is based on a detailed analysis of the requirements drawn up at the start of the course.

Outputs

  • Passing the entrance examinations (see the statistics – pdf, 11 kb)
  • Attendance certificate

The attendance certificate confirms that the student has taken the course: attendance, entrance examinations prepared, options and hours of presence. It is issued to those students who are recognised as having attended the course by the course manager.

  • Public Administration Diploma

Students taking long courses may register for the Licence d’Administration Publique (LAP – Public Administration Degree) at Rennes 1 University as the preparatory course makes them eligible for this diploma. For some students, registration must be backed up by evidence of professional experience (Validation des Acquis Professionnels (VAP). Co-ordination with Rennes 1 University is managed exclusively by the preparatory course service when students have started the course.

Preparing for the preparatory course examinations

  • Revising for the compulsory second language selected for the examination
  • Monitor current affairs after confirmation of acceptance for the course (for example, drawing up theme folders that will be of use up to the oral examinations)
