The MINES ParisTech and the EHESP, two schools of high repute in their respective fields, have combined their skills to offer this course of excellence.
1- What is an advanced Master?
An advanced Master is a post-graduate course, accredited by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE), which is designed to deepen skills acquired through an initial degree or professional experience. The course is open to those with a Bac + 5, or Bac + 4
The advanced Master provides students with the opportunity to specialise in a specific domain for which there is a real need in business.
2- What advantages does a Specialist Master provide?
Value of the Advanced Master in Health and Environment: issues for the state and business: the skills provided by this diploma draw on a grasp of many disciplines that must be based on a firm theoretical basis complemented by professional experience. The course must be considered to be a deepening of initial, more general skills, as employers have a wide range of needs. This approach is all the more justified as the combination of knowledge and professional experience in the intake will bring high added value to the course itself. The teaching methods will be highly interactive and participative, encouraging students to pool their knowledge and savoir-faire.
This is a course that prepares students for their future career and provides a link with the worlds of research, industry and state decision-making. It fulfils the requirements for Specialist Masters and conforms to the objectives defined by the CGE.
3- Strengths of the Advanced Master in Health and Environment: alliance of two experts
The MINES ParisTech and the EHESP, both highly reputed schools in their respective fields, have combined their skills to create this course of excellence.
MINES ParisTech is continuously expanding its expertise in matters relating to the environment at its research centres such as the Centre Energétique et Procédés (CEP – Energy and Processes Centre), the Centre Sociologie de l’Innovation (CSI – Sociology of Innovation Centre) and the Centre de recherche sur les Risques et les Crises (CRC – Risk and Crisis Research Centre). For the past 18 years, its environment and sustainable development training centre, the ISIGE, has provided three Specialist Masters in Environmental Engineering and Management, International Environmental Management and Executive Quality-Safety-Environment and Sustainable Development.
The Ecole des Hautes Etude en Santé Publique (EHESP – School of Public Health) is a state establishment with a dual mission of training and research in public health. One of the school’s six departments, the Département Santé Environnement Travail (DSETGS – Department of Environmental and Occupational Health), focuses on the environmental and occupational health sector and is associated with the Laboratoire d’Étude et de Recherche en Environnement et Santé (LERES – Study and Research into Environmental Health Laboratory). Research in this field is carried out within the Institut de Recherche en Santé Environnement Travail (IRSET – Environmental and Occupational Health Research Institute) comprising INSERM and Rennes 1 university. The EHESP offers three complementary courses in this field: the EHESP health engineering diploma, the Public Health and Environmental Risk Master and the Advanced Master in Health and Environment.
