Post-training evaluation IFOP 2007
Post-training evaluation (1 year after students have started their job) confirms that there is a high level of satisfaction, although this varies according to the branch of medicine in which students are working: 73.8% of alumni are generally satisfied, or very satisfied, with their training at the EHESP.
Those most satisfied are health engineers and nursing care directors.
In general, those working in public hospitals are more satisfied than those working in government service.
For all those concerned, requirements for changes in the courses refer mainly to:
- more individual monitoring of students
- practical learning focussed on professional reality
- the tempo and progression of the courses
After working for one year, 87% of former students feel that they are able to cope with the various aspects of their job.
However, 60% experienced problems when they started work owing to:
- lack of experience (64%)
- the workplace situation (70%)
- lack of training (55.6%)
74% of them succeeded in adapting within the first 6 months.
This information confirms that the training meets professional requirements; 70.8% of former students also consider that the courses they took at the School and their professional experience are the 2 main sources of their skills.
Most of the health professionals who have been working for more than a year after leaving the School have a generally positive view of the ENSP. This has increased significantly during the past 8 years (CREDOC surveys 1999 to 2005, G&A 2006, IFOP 2007) and for the past 5 years 80% of alumni or so have said they were pleased or very pleased with the course.
