The department of human, social and health behaviour sciences was created by the reorganisation and expansion of the Policies and Institutions department of the former National Public Health School. It contributes to the 4 missions of the EHESP:

Research carried out by EHESP lecturers
- within the framework of EHESP’s interdisciplinary centres, in particular in the three centres dealing with human and social sciences and health behaviour:
- the research centre for long-term care, vulnerability and Alzheimer’s disease directed by Claude Martin
- the interdisciplinary centre for health risk analysis and regulation directed by Michel Setbon (CNRS)
- the public health policy analysis centre directed by Didier Tabuteau (Sciences-Po)
- They may also carry out their research within the department or in collaboration with other research centres (Clermont-Ferrand University, EHESS – Paris)
