Current position: Lecturer Researcher - EHESP

Diploma(s): PhD in biomathematics - INSERM U707, University of Jussieu Paris 7

Affiliation(s): Department of environmental and occupational health

Curriculum

Professional experience :

Since 2001 : Lecturer Researcher – EHESP

1999-2000 : Lecturer and researcher assistant – University of Jussieu – Paris 7

1998-1999 : Lecturer and researcher assistant – University of Bordeaux I.

Training :

I acquired my biomathematics training at the University Paris Diderot – Paris 7 between 1995 and 1999 under the joint supervision of Professor Chau and professor Flahault within unit 444 at the time directed by Professor Valleron. I worked over those years on the temporal modelling of varicella in order to improve the knowledge on the disease propagation mechanisms.

  • "Modelling of varicella epidemic in France from weekly data of the Sentinel Network".

Research

Principal research axis "Role of environmental exposure on health social inequalities"

My research activity is structured around "health – environment" issues. Since 2008, I defined my research activity in the new EHESP context, creating a bridge between the Epidemiology and biostatistics department and the Health-Environment-Work and Health Engineering Department. The "Equit’Area" national research program seeks to study the role of cumulative environmental exposure on health social inequalities. This allows me to participate in research projects at a European level and to put my skills at the service of a public health project.

Expertise

  • In charge of training units
  • Scientific project coordinator

Courses

After I obtained my PhD in November 1999, I took a lecturer-researcher position in Biostatistics in the Egeries department of the ENSP, which has become the EHESP. I first taught biostatistics regularly in the different professional sectors taught at the EHESP. I am still highly involved in teaching, and the certification of the international Master in Public Health (MPH) in 2008 constantly renews the teaching objectives to attain as a lecturer.

In charge of the "Information System and Biostatistics" programme of the Master of Public Health of the EHESP.

Coordinator and principal lecturer of the following modules

  • Core module in biostatistics of the M2 – PMH
  • "Data mining" Minor M2 – MPH
  • "Spatial analysis" Major M2 – MPH
