Full-time preparatory program – internal competitive entrance examinations
The EHESP offers hospital staff the opportunity to prepare for internal competitive exams for public service hospital directorships through a full-time preparatory course.

Competitive exam preparation program – internal and external competitive entrance examinations
The EHESP actively prepares candidates for the written and oral elements of some examinations held by the Ministries of Social Welfare and Health. These preparations are based on the official syllabus and incorporate all necessary knowledge, methodology and “mind tools”. They are essentially distance learning preparation courses, which also require on-campus attendance.
The teaching team is made up of EHESP lecturers, specialists in social welfare, law, health economics and demographics; academics, professionals from the public health system and other sectors. The lecturers are there to provide advice and guidance to candidates during their preparation for the exams.
Other EHESP services are also available to candidates: library materials (loan of student theses, posting or faxing of articles, documentary research), bibliographic databases, the public health databank and EHESP publications.

Integrated preparatory program – external competitive entrance examinations
An integrated preparatory class (Classe Préparatoire Intégrée – CPI) offers support in the preparation for competitive entrance examinations for the civil service, intended for young candidates who, because of their familial or social backgrounds, would have otherwise been unable to access the resources and tools necessary to preparing for, and succeeding in, the competitive entrance examinations for the civil service.

Preparation for oral exams – internal and external competitive entrance examinations
These are organised in Rennes for eligible candidates (DH, DESSMS, AAH, IASS, EN3S). They are open to students in distance preparation, CPI, and the preparatory cycle. They can be open to other eligible candidates for the competitive entrance examinations, on condition that places are available.
These courses are organised around news conferences and oral practice (general knowledge, technical matters, and languages).
There are oral preparations for 5 competitive entrance examinations: Sanitary and Social Affairs Inspector (IASS), École Nationale Supérieure de Sécurité Sociale (EN3S), Hospital Director (DH), Social, Sanitary and Medical-Social Establishment Director (DESSMS), Hospital Administration Officer (AAH), Director of Care (DS).
