Knowledge has improved considerably since pre-industrial times as regards the impact of the environment on health and the development of risk. We clearly need new technological, organizational and regulatory responses to safeguard the health of our citizens.

In the 60s and 70s, the national “health services” of the former DDASS recruited trained professionals and profoundly changed the landscape of the field of environmental health in France. New challenges related to environmental changes (climate change), economic changes (globalization), social changes (rampant urbanization), societal changes (demands for participation and information), and changes in practices (quality assurance rules) must now be addressed.

How do we respond?

EHESP, and in particular the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and Health Engineering, is pleased to announce a conference for health engineers, recent graduates and professionals, researchers and all those interested in the field of environmental health.

It will be a time for collective reflection that will mark 50 years of training in environmental health and health engineering taught at EHESP since 1963.
