The EHESP welcomed three representatives of the Central African Centre for Higher Education in Public Health (CIESPAC) for a five-day workshop, from 27th to 31st March. The CIESPAC trains public health professionals from the six member-states of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC).

The visit was organized as part of the technical assistance project led in the Republic of Congo by Expertise France in collaboration with the EHESP. The two-year project aims to train hospital managers at the Brazzaville hospital, as well as support the CIESPAC to entrench hospital management training in the long term.

During their visit, Eric Fouty (acting director), Apollos Nebardoum (course coordinator) and Eliane Anga (documentalist), worked with EHESP experts on their Master’s major in Health Services and Hospital Management. Several EHESP departments were involved in the program, which allowed the group to work both on the structure and the content of the course.

In the near future, the two partners hope that the CIESPAC’s Master’s course will contribute to a sustained improvement in hospital management and increase access to healthcare. The second year of the course will begin in September 2017, and the collaboration between the CIESPAC and the EHESP will continue over the coming years.
