The closing of the 3rd promotion of hospital management training took place on 26th April 2014. The training was organized by Pham Ngoc Thach medical university (UPNT), under the partnership agreement signed on with the EHESP School of Public Health in 2010 and 2013. The ceremony and graduation took place after the 5th module conducted by Michel Louazel (Institute of Management, EHESP School of Public Health) and Francis Fellinger (French Inspectorate General of Social Affairs). About 80 Vietnamese hospital managers were trained in 3 years.

EHESP School of Public Health’s and Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University’s representatives exchanged views on the evolution of the training, until now provided by teachers from the Institute of Management, EHESP School of Public Health. From now on, the future modules will be chaired both by French and Vietnamese teachers. Besides, Philippe Peyret, Honorary teacher in hospital management at the Institute of Management provided a 2-day training for the future Vietnamese teachers. The 4th promotion is due to start at the end of 2014.

It was also an opportunity for Laurence Théault, Deputy director of International relations at EHESP School of Public Health and Philippe Peyret, to meet partners in Hanoi. The goal was to analyze the needs regarding the setting up of a University Hospital within Hanoi’s University of Medicine. This project is funded by a French loan and includes training in management. In this perspective, meetings took place with the Vice Provost of Hanoi Medical University, with academic physicians and department heads of the hospital attached to the University, and with Odile Bodo, French hospital expert at Hanoi Medical University, coordinator of the University Hospital project.
