Nathalie Robin Sanchez (hospital management professor, EHESP), Christian Wernert (health inspection expert, ARS Bourgogne Franche-Comté) and Samuel Hilyer (junior project officer, EHESP) were in Hanoi from 6th to 20th May 2017 to work with the Vietnamese Ministry of Health on 2 national training programs, for hospital managers and health inspectors.
The 2 courses, that will last respectively 12 and 6 weeks, will be the 1st nationwide programs of their kind. The project, financed by the World Bank, is led by the ministry of health, and managed by the Hanoi University of Public Health.

Over the 2 weeks, EHESP experts advised Vietnamese officials on the content, format and implementation of the training programs, and led a five-day training of trainers’ course for public health professionals.

The EHESP team met with the deputy-minister of health, Le Quang Cuong, who gave his full support to EHESP’s work in Vietnam. The work-trip successful, as it has laid a solid basis for the national training programs, and both parties expressed their wish to further their collaboration in the future.

Since 2010, EHESP has supported several hospitals and universities in Vietnam, and this latest project will help entrench these efforts at a national level.
