The Post-Master in Healthcare Management is a management programme offered by EHESP, experts at training managers of health, social and medical-social care institutions for almost 60 years. Thanks to our extensive experience in the field of public health and institutional management, we provide a Post-Master programme developed and taught by a teaching body (research lecturers and experts) working exclusively in this sector. It follows a multidisciplinary approach allowing students to acquire the skills for performing management functions within the healthcare sector.

Professional objectives
The Post-Master in Healthcare Management is designed to teach professionals the skills required to lead or manage healthcare facilities, facilities or services for people with disabilities or older people, executives at regional health agencies, federations and healthcare organisations, or consultants.
Skills outcomes
The aim of the Post-Master in Healthcare Management is to equip students with the necessary skills to carry out management functions in a healthcare environment.
In line with the directives of the Conference of Grandes Écoles (CGE), the Post-Master programme includes, for students in initial education, a work placement of between 4 and 6 months in a sector you are training for. For trainees in continuing education, the placement can be carried out at their place of work. Trainees must also produce a professional thesis to meet the study requirements.

- consultant working for a consulting firm specialising in healthcare

Description

Period of study: from early September 2025 to late September 2026
Duration:
- 493 hours of teaching and assessments, primarily in-person, which include supervised independent study periods;
- 147 hours of scheduled personal study time (in addition to the duration of teaching and assessments);
- Placement duration: from a minimum of 616 hours to a maximum of 924 hours;
- For apprentices: training duration of 661 hours (including scheduled personal study time) and time with the employer: 1,320 hours
- Pedagogical support: individual and collective supervision as part of the dissertation work
Structure: 2 weeks a month from September to November and 1 week a month from December to July. Trainees need to add 1 week a month from May to July.

Educational methods
- In-person teaching: lectures, tutorials, workshops

Assessment
Written assessment in exam conditions and continuous assessment (during class periods).
Dissertation defence: sessions 1 between September and December of year n+1.
Technical ressources
EHESP provides various technical resources for learners to attend classes, including: Teams, Zoom, FileSender-Renater (file transfer system) and the CAMPUS platform (learning content).
Special software may be required (specified by your course manager).
A documentation centre, self-service computer rooms and accommodation on the Rennes Campus and a restaurant are also provided.
Entry requirements
Giving students access to a wide range of career prospects, this Post-Master is aimed at candidates in France and overseas with a background in political science, sociology, law, economics and management (university and business school), foundation doctors, midwives, healthcare professionals (facility or non-profit organisation directors, healthcare executives, doctors, healthcare engineers, hospital administration officers) or looking to retrain.
Conditions of entry
Admissions prerequisites
The Post-Master programme (bac+6) is open to candidates with the following qualifications:
- bac+5 level (Master’s engineering degree, PhD, etc.)
- bac+4 plus 3 years’ professional experience
In exceptional cases:
- Holding a Master 1 qualification or equivalent without professional experience
- Holding an L3 qualification proving suitable experience of 3 years minimum
- Bac or equivalent with 10 years’ professional experience (excluding work placement, gap years, work-study programmes for initial education).
